he PGA's Christmas Sport & Comedy Lunch returns to Glasgow's Hilton Hotel this December for another afternoon of entertainment with one of the greatest golfers of all time, Sandy Lyle, the hilarious stand up comedian Sean Collins and our host for the afternoon, the broadcaster and BBC golf correspondent, Iain Carter.
Sandy Lyle was one of the key players responsible for the resurgence of European Golf in the 1980s. With two majors to his name, he won both The Open in 1985 and The Masters in 1988. He was instrumental in 2 Ryder Cup Wins, including Europe’s first victory on American soil in 1987 and played in 5 in total. He topped the Order of Merit on three occasions and in 2012 he was inducted into the World Hall of Fame. Sandy is considered to be one of the greatest players of all time.
The brilliant Sean Collins is a hilarious Canadian stand-up comedian with a natural ability to engage a crowd and make them laugh with extraordinary tight routines. His hilarious anecdotes and energy are punctuated by slick comic timing. With 25 years’ experience in stand-up comedy, since moving to the UK and being introduced to UK audiences on the Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow, his act has shown no signs of slowing down.
Host for the afternoon is broadcaster, commentator and author, Iain Carter. Iain is a regular and popular voice on BBC Radio 5Live and Radio Scotland providing live coverage of tournaments including The Open, Masters, US Open, US PGA and the Ryder Cup.
